ALAIN CANTAREL

Born 1st of March 1949 in Bordeaux, he started very young working with various mediums, and produced his first pieces in wood and stone. Later, after studying philosophy and dramatic arts, he focused on sculpture using wood, stone, granite and marble.

His friendship with the bronze sculpturist Claude Tourneur led him to spend three years in his studio refining techniques to work steel and bronze.

Regular themes of consciousness, emotional expression and gestures permeate his creations. They express softness and optimism. His kinetic sculptures reflect his curiosity for ontology and leave room to pursue dreams, knowledge and creativity.
The acclaimed workmanship of his pieces led him to participate in many Film, Theater, Literature and Dance festivals and has been awarded numerous prizes in France and around the world.
